New TV Ads and Website Bringing Thousands Back to Catholic Church
Roswell, GA (PRWEB) -- Catholics Come Home Inc., an independent, non-profit Catholic apostolate is the lay Catholic group behind the upcoming December 2009-January 2010 TV advertising initiative in the Chicago, Joliet, and Rockford media markets. According to Catholic News Service, a recent campaign in Phoenix helped 92,000 inactive Catholics return to the active practice of their faith. In addition, the Diocese of Corpus Christi experienced similar results following a bilingual campaign this past Lent, which increased Mass attendance by 17.7%. Portraying the beauty, spirituality and history of the Catholic Church, the television messages reach out to inactive Catholics and others on their faith journey; encouraging their return to the Church. The commercials direct the viewer to the www.CatholicsComeHome.org website to explore answers to questions of faith and to utilize the site's parish-finder feature to locate their local parish community.
In response to the initial campaign and viral exposure of the website, CatholicsComeHome.org has been visited by nearly 1 million individuals from all fifty states and over eighty countries who were moved by the welcoming messages and website. Now, Catholics Come Home is inviting other families back to the Catholic faith across the country in 15 dioceses, including Seattle, Sacramento, Colorado Springs, Omaha, Lincoln, Green Bay, Chicago, Rockford, Joliet, Atlanta, Charlotte, Providence and Venice, Florida. Next year, the lay organization will begin airing on national US television networks. The Australians have also expressed an interest in airing Catholics Come Home ads on their continent in the future.
After launching, CatholicsComeHome.org commercials were featured on the Jumbo-tron for Pope Benedict's Mass in Washington D.C. and at the National Prayer Breakfast where 2,500 dignitaries were present. The ads were also featured on numerous national and regional media outlets where Tom Peterson, CCH Founder and President, was interviewed.
The inspiring television and website advertisements accessible at www.CatholicsComeHome.org were created and are supported by a group of lay Catholic families and individuals inspired by Blessed John Paul II's call to evangelization. Through www.CatholicsComeHome.org they communicate Christ's message of faith in a loving, non-judgmental medium through impactful advertisements. "These messages are created and sponsored by lay Catholic families who have experienced a renewal of faith and who want to bring purpose and hope to other families across the country. The results are nothing short of miraculous," said Founder, Tom Peterson.
Catholics Come Home is partnering with the parishes of the Diocese of Rockford, the Diocese of Joliet and the Archdiocese of Chicago to help welcome inactive Catholics home, and others who would like to become Catholic. The Chicago initiative will feature ads in English, Spanish (www.catolicosregresen.org) and Polish.
